Have you ever gone to trim a quilt when using minky/cuddle fabric as the backing and had to deal with all the shedding? Well I am going to show you an easy way to help stop the shed. I recently finished this Flora Fields quilt and found a beautiful wine colored minky for the back.

In order to trim this quilt I use our old friend the blue painters tape. You can see how I put a long piece across the back covering the line I am going to trim.

The blue painters tape allows you to make a cut and have all those pesky little furballs from the minky stick to the tape. This was you help save yourself a little time when cleaning up.

I hope this tip helps you next time you have a quilt with minky backing and don't want to deal with the mess it makes when cutting. I'll share pictures of the completed top later so you can see how beautiful this quilting design is on it.
